In the island of Chios, a traditional house built of stone and wood at the end of the 19th century, restored with taste, 100 meters from the beach and the small port and taverns. Located in the heart of a fishermen village, Kataraktis.

Facing onto a small pedestrian passage, the house has 100 square meters of living space on 3 floors. The back of the house overlooks a garden. I rent 2 rooms with fan: one on the first floor, one on the top floor. In order to preserve the original architecture, the disposition of the rooms was not changed during the restoration; the living rooms and kitchen are spacious while the bedrooms are small but with recesses serving as additional living space on each floor. Diner on request (french and greek food, only fresh products). Friendly atmosphere.

On the ground floor: a summer living room , ideal in summer and a bathroom with hot water plumbing and a WC,
On the the first floor: a terrace with a barbecue and a small sitting-room, WC,
On the top floor: 2 balconies and a small sitting-room.
Refrigerator, washing machine and laundry iron available.
A phone-box, a tobacconist’s shop and a grocery in the village.
Facilities in Chora: post-office, bank, shopping, internet café.

Chios is a big island (850 km²) with a lot of points of interest: quiet beaches, good food, fortified villages, mountains, production of mastic, including the hospitality of its residents!
It’s not a touristic area, preserved from the tourism of mass.
The rental of a car for several days is recommended for those who wish to profit fully from the beauties of the island.
Rental by the week is also available, ideal for 4 or 5 people.

Driving Directions (getting there) :The island of Chios has daily boat and air service from Athens (Piraeus port) and Mytilene. During the summer months, there are several weekly services linking Chios to Samos and Syros. Also in the summer twice daily boat service is available to Cesme in Turkey.
Bus or taxi between the capital, Chora, and the village, Kataraktis (14 KM)
